Mediterranean — hot dry summers (Southern Hemisphere), mild wet winters

Cape Town has a classic Mediterranean climate but in the Southern Hemisphere — summers are December–February (hot and dry) and winters are June–August (cool and wet). The Cape Doctor (southeast wind) can make summer days dramatically windy. Table Mountain creates local weather patterns.

Fort Worth west of Dallas is where the West begins — the city transitions from the humid Blackland Prairie to the drier rolling plains. This means slightly drier and hotter summers than Dallas and more pronounced cold fronts (blue northers) arriving from the west. The Trinity River creates some local weather influence.
