Corpus Christi on the Coastal Bend of the Gulf of Mexico has the windiest climate of any Texas coastal city. The city faces the Gulf directly with consistent Gulf breezes that moderate summer temperatures. The Padre Island National Seashore to the east is the longest undeveloped barrier island in the US. Hurricane Harvey's outer bands affected the city in 2017.

San Francisco's climate is shaped by its position on a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. The coastal fog (Karl the Fog) rolls in through the Golden Gate each summer afternoon, keeping temperatures mild year-round. The city has dramatically different microclimates — the Sunset District fog-bound while the Mission basks in sun on the same day.
