Delhi has extreme seasonal swings. Winters can frost; summers regularly hit 113°F (45°C). The monsoon (July–September) provides relief but also flooding. The city has severe air quality problems, particularly October–February when pollution peaks.

Jaipur sits on the eastern edge of the Thar Desert in a semi-arid zone, flanked by the Aravalli Hills on three sides, which shape its distinctive hot desert climate. Summers are extreme with temperatures regularly exceeding 45°C, while winters are mild and dry with occasional cold waves sweeping down from the north. The Aravallis act as a partial barrier to monsoon moisture from the southeast, creating significant rainfall variation between hilltop and plain neighborhoods, and the city's sandstone architecture and expanding concrete sprawl intensify urban heat island effects.
