Delhi has extreme seasonal swings. Winters can frost; summers regularly hit 113°F (45°C). The monsoon (July–September) provides relief but also flooding. The city has severe air quality problems, particularly October–February when pollution peaks.

Lahore sits on the flat alluvial plains of the upper Indus basin, experiencing a semi-arid climate with extreme seasonal contrasts — scorching summers above 45°C give way to cool, foggy winters. The Ravi River along the city's northern edge and the extensive canal network create localized humidity corridors, while the dense historic core and rapidly expanding suburbs generate one of South Asia's most intense urban heat islands. Monsoon rains from July to September bring dramatic but uneven relief, with low-lying areas prone to severe waterlogging.
