Delhi has extreme seasonal swings. Winters can frost; summers regularly hit 113°F (45°C). The monsoon (July–September) provides relief but also flooding. The city has severe air quality problems, particularly October–February when pollution peaks.

Moscow's continental climate features harsh winters and warm summers, shaped by its position on the East European Plain with no nearby mountains or seas to moderate extremes. The Moscow River and its tributaries create humidity corridors through the city, while the vast urban sprawl generates one of Europe's most pronounced urban heat islands — the city center can be 5–10°C warmer than surrounding countryside on calm winter nights. Extensive parklands, Soviet-era green belts, and elevation changes between river valleys and glacial moraine hills produce distinct microclimates across the metropolitan area.
