Jakarta is hot and humid year-round. The city is notorious for flooding during the wet season (November–April), when the 13 rivers flowing through the city frequently overflow. July–September is the drier, more comfortable season.

Karachi's climate is dominated by its position on the Arabian Sea coast along the southern edge of the Sindh plain, creating a hot semi-arid environment moderated by maritime influence. The city experiences extreme heat from April to June before the southwest monsoon brings humid relief, while sea breezes penetrate unevenly across the sprawling metropolitan area depending on distance from the coast and building density.
