Desert — unique foggy grey winters, warm sunny summers, almost no rain

Lima has the world's most paradoxical coastal desert climate. Despite being a tropical latitude, it rarely gets rain due to the cold Humboldt Current offshore. Summers (December–April) are sunny and warm; winters (June–October) are blanketed in garúa — a thick grey mist with drizzle that rarely lifts.

Long Beach enjoys coastal Southern California climate with significant moderation from the Pacific Ocean. The city's position at the eastern end of Santa Monica Bay means it receives less afternoon sea fog than points north but enjoys consistent ocean breezes. Palos Verdes Peninsula blocks some northwesterly breezes creating unique bay microweather.
