Desert — unique foggy grey winters, warm sunny summers, almost no rain

Lima has the world's most paradoxical coastal desert climate. Despite being a tropical latitude, it rarely gets rain due to the cold Humboldt Current offshore. Summers (December–April) are sunny and warm; winters (June–October) are blanketed in garúa — a thick grey mist with drizzle that rarely lifts.

Lowell at the confluence of the Merrimack and Concord Rivers is the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. The river valleys create local weather patterns with valley fog, channeled winds, and humidity from the rivers. Located north of Boston, it sees slightly more extreme winter temperatures with additional snowfall.
