Lima has the world's most paradoxical coastal desert climate. Despite being a tropical latitude, it rarely gets rain due to the cold Humboldt Current offshore. Summers (December–April) are sunny and warm; winters (June–October) are blanketed in garúa — a thick grey mist with drizzle that rarely lifts.

Munich's climate is shaped by its position on the elevated Bavarian plateau at roughly 520m above sea level and its proximity to the northern Alps, just 100km to the south. The city experiences a humid continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm summers, but the Föhn wind — a warm, dry downslope wind from the Alps — can raise temperatures dramatically and bring extraordinary visibility and clear skies at any time of year. The Isar river corridor, extensive English Garden parkland, and varying building densities create distinct microclimates across the city.
