Desert — unique foggy grey winters, warm sunny summers, almost no rain

Lima has the world's most paradoxical coastal desert climate. Despite being a tropical latitude, it rarely gets rain due to the cold Humboldt Current offshore. Summers (December–April) are sunny and warm; winters (June–October) are blanketed in garúa — a thick grey mist with drizzle that rarely lifts.

Stockton sits at the northern end of the Central Valley near the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. It receives more bay influence than Fresno through the delta channels, giving it slightly cooler summers. The Delta Breeze arrives reliably in late afternoon, offering reprieve from valley heat. Winter tule fog is particularly dense here.
