Manila is one of the world's most typhoon-prone cities, experiencing an average of 20 typhoons per year in the Philippines (8–9 making direct landfall). The dry season (November–April) is the safest and most comfortable window.

Pune sits on the Deccan Plateau at an elevation of roughly 560 meters, nestled between the Sahyadri (Western Ghats) mountain range to its west and rolling plateau terrain to the east. The city's climate is shaped by the monsoon shadow effect — western neighborhoods closer to the Ghats receive significantly heavier rainfall than the drier eastern suburbs.
