San Francisco's climate is shaped by its position on a peninsula surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Stockton sits at the northern end of the Central Valley near the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. It receives more bay influence than Fresno through the delta channels, giving it slightly cooler summers. The Delta Breeze arrives reliably in late afternoon, offering reprieve from valley heat. Winter tule fog is particularly dense here.
