Amarillo Weather in April

Amarillo on the Texas Panhandle's Llano Estacado is one of America's windiest cities. The flat High Plains here are fully exposed to Arctic air from the north, making blue norther cold fronts extremely intense. Summer temperatures are more moderate than the DFW area due to higher elevation (3,600 feet) but extreme weather ranges are the norm.
