Cairo Weather in September
Egypt · early fall in Northern Hemisphere
Cairo's desert climate is dominated by the Nile River valley, which channels northerly breezes through the city during summer. The urban heat island effect is extreme — downtown Cairo's concrete and asphalt can reach 120°F surface temperatures in July while the Nile-side districts benefit from evaporative cooling. Winter days are mild (60–70°F) but nights drop sharply in the desert air. Khamsin sandstorms from the Sahara hit between March and May.
Excellent shoulder season — warm with fewer tourists in many destinations.
