The City Bowl sits in a natural amphitheater between Table Mountain, Signal Hill, and Lion's Head — sheltered from the Cape Doctor when wind is from the south, but fully exposed to northwesterly winter gales. Fog banks regularly pour over Table Mountain's summit into the Bowl.
