Cedar Rapids Weather in April

Cedar Rapids on the Cedar River was devastated by a 500-year flood in 2008 and by the derecho of 2020 that knocked down millions of trees. The city has a humid continental climate with the open Iowa prairie providing no barriers to weather extremes. The Cedar River valley creates humidity and flood risk.
