Clarksville on the Cumberland River near the Kentucky border is Tennessee's fifth-largest city and home to Fort Campbell, which straddles the state line. The city has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and hot, humid summers. River valley humidity is significant and severe thunderstorms are frequent in spring.
