Columbus Weather in August

Columbus on the Chattahoochee River at the Alabama border has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. Fort Benning (now Fort Moore) is one of the Army's largest bases and sits in the flatwoods surrounding the city. The Chattahoochee provides some cooling corridor but Columbus is fully inland with no coastal moderation.

Hot in many cities. Beach and outdoor destinations are at their peak.
