Fort Myers Weather in September

Fort Myers on the Caloosahatchee River was devastated by Hurricane Ian in 2022, the most powerful hurricane to strike Southwest Florida in over a century. The Gulf coast location provides maritime moderation normally but Ian's storm surge reached 12 feet in some areas. The sunny winters make it a top snowbird destination.
