Mumbai Weather FAQ
What is the best time to visit Mumbai?
November through February is ideal — temperatures of 77–88°F (25–31°C) with low humidity and minimal rain. December and January are peak months with the most comfortable conditions.
How bad is Mumbai flooding during monsoon season?
Severe. Mumbai's low-lying geography and overwhelmed drainage cause annual flooding. In 2005, 37 inches (940mm) of rain fell in 24 hours, killing over 1,000 people and stranding millions. July is the highest-risk month.
How hot is Mumbai in summer?
Pre-monsoon (March–May) is brutally hot — temperatures of 90–95°F (32–35°C) with humidity above 80%. The heat index can exceed 110°F (43°C), making outdoor activity in the middle of the day dangerous.
