Kuala Lumpur Weather in September

Kuala Lumpur sits at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers at just 131 feet elevation, giving it an extremely hot and humid equatorial climate (82–90°F year-round) with no true dry season. Heavy afternoon convective thunderstorms occur almost daily, bringing intense but short-lived rainfall. The surrounding Titiwangsa mountain range to the east channels winds and occasionally moderates extreme temperatures. Highland suburbs like Bukit Bintang run slightly cooler than the river valley CBD due to elevation.

Excellent shoulder season — warm with fewer tourists in many destinations.

Kuala Lumpur is hot and wet year-round. The city lies just 3° north of the equator with no true seasons. Two peak rainfall periods occur: October–November and March–April. June–August is relatively drier.
