Seodaemun-gu rises steeply from the city center toward Ansan (296m) and the western ridgeline of Bukhansan, creating significant elevation-based temperature gradients within the district. The hilltop residential areas around Yonsei University experience noticeably cooler summers and earlier autumn foliage than the commercial lowlands near Sinchon station.
