Seoul Weather in March

Seoul's climate is shaped by its dramatic basin geography — the city sits in a broad valley surrounded by mountains on all sides, with the Han River bisecting it east to west. This topography creates intense summer heat islands in the dense urban core while mountain-adjacent districts enjoy cooler temperatures and better air circulation. Winters bring cold Siberian air that pools in the basin, and the surrounding peaks like Bukhansan (836m) and Gwanaksan (632m) generate significant microclimate variation across the city's neighborhoods.

Seoul has four distinct seasons. Cherry blossoms in April and autumn foliage in October rival Tokyo's. Summers bring the monsoon (jangma) and intense heat; winters are dry and bitterly cold with clear blue skies.
