Lima Weather in April

Lima is one of the world's great climate paradoxes — a desert city (average 0.6 inches of rain per year) that is persistently overcast. The Humboldt Current off Peru's coast is so cold (59–64°F) that it cools onshore air below its dew point, creating perpetual low cloud and garúa (mist) from May through November. Temperatures are remarkably stable at 60–80°F year-round. Coastal districts live under near-constant cloud while hilltop and inland districts occasionally break through the marine layer into full sunshine. The city's coastal cliffs create dramatic microclimate gradients from the malecon promenade to just a few blocks inland.

Spring or fall conditions — often among the best months to visit.

Lima has the world's most paradoxical coastal desert climate. Despite being a tropical latitude, it rarely gets rain due to the cold Humboldt Current offshore. Summers (December–April) are sunny and warm; winters (June–October) are blanketed in garúa — a thick grey mist with drizzle that rarely lifts.
