Ajuda's elevated position on the western hillside above the Tagus provides sweeping exposure to Atlantic weather systems arriving from the southwest, making it one of Lisbon's windiest and rainiest neighborhoods. The proximity of Monsanto Forest Park on its northern flank channels cooled, humidified air downslope, creating noticeably fresher conditions than the dense city center.
